Every Sunday lunch, bless him, poor Steve*(name changed to protect the guilty), ended up in the weeds. Sweat pouring from the brow as he frantically went table to table.
You never wanted to get in the weeds serving tables.
If you were, that meant you were on the struggle bus... overwhelmed and falling behind.
And just between you and me, some of my scariest nightmares have been about getting in the weeds. Too many tables needing a greeting, checks needing to be printed, kitchen falling behind, delivering a ranch dip here and bringing refills there... even the thought {shudders}.
You see, it wasn't even that hard to get in the weeds because you didn't always get to control the process. It's not like you always got to seat yourself.
And because you didn't control the process, it could quickly go south with so many different variables: how recently you had been sat, how many people were at the table, how needy the tables were, how backed up was the kitchen, what the wait list looked like and how strong the staff was you were working with. The list goes on...
In those moments, all you really hoped was to claw your way back and get a handle on things ASAP.
You had to prioritize everything.
You had to know when and whom to ask for help.
Most importantly, you had to communicate to ensure it wasn't a complete dumpster fire.
In business as an entrepreneur, it may feel like that at times too.
You may feel like you are in the weeds... overwhelmed and falling behind.
An overwhelmed entrepreneur.

Sometimes you just get stuck...
So stuck you don't where to turn, what to improve...
Shoot, you may even wonder why are we doing this anyway?
Prioritization is key...
When everything is important, nothing is important.
To figure out what's important, sometimes we have to go back to the basics.
What are we doing?
What are we hoping to accomplish?
Who can help us get there?
Once you figure that out, I'd be willing to bet you've got some tasks on your plate you are avoiding that might make a world of difference in your business. What are you avoiding at all costs? What's holding you back?
In those moments where you have too much on your plate...
I recommend finding time (I know, I know) to think. Sometimes finding time means doing the uncomfortable... but hey, you don't have too much to lose you are already there!
Show me how you spend your time, I can figure out what's important to you...
I promise we can find some time... Sometimes finding time can look like ... waking up earlier, optimizing your schedule or dropping activities that aren't productive.
As an entrepreneur, you are your own boss. But sometimes we have to find someone to hold you accountable. Someone to be your cheerleader. Someone to look at your business differently. Someone to help clean your business up. Someone to help you figure out what's next. Someone to help you brainstorm how to level up.
You've got this.
And if you need help, give me 90 days. I promise I will help you find a way to stay out of the weeds and build a business that gives you the freedom to no longer feel stuck and see the opportunities that are within your reach.
